raising ohio’s future
Rise up to raise Ohio’s future — Together.
Special Childcare meeting january 13, 2026
Recent national reporting about alleged child care fraud in another state has sparked dangerous and misleading speculation here in Ohio. These claims are not rooted in the facts of Ohio’s child care system, which is already one of the most highly regulated in the country.
At the same time, recent changes that pay providers only when a child attends—rather than paying for a child’s enrolled spot—hurt small child care businesses. Ohio can fight fraud while also supporting stable child care that keeps families working and children safe.
That’s why we’re coming together.
On Tuesday, January 13th, the Care Economy Organizing Project is joining Policy Matters Ohio, Children’s Defense Fund-Ohio, and Black Child Development Institute of Ohio to host an emergency meeting on the state of child care.
By uniting parents, early childhood educators, and community members, we amplify our collective voice, ensuring every child in Ohio has the foundation they need to thrive.
Join the Care Economy Organizing Project and Policy Matters Ohio to directly influence policies that make childcare accessible and affordable.
